From Darkness to Dawn

a novel by Johanna Joli and Juliette Mungo

At sixty, Julia thought she knew herself. Five years later her savings are gone, and the judge declines to read all the evidence. Somewhere a new woman is laughing at his jokes.

A dual-narrative novel about coercive control, financial ruin, a justice system that fails her, and the patient, unglamorous work of beginning again. Written under pseudonyms by a UK psychologist and a journalist.

About Wren Books

Wren Books is a small independent imprint, founded in the United Kingdom in 2026. We publish a few books carefully rather than many quickly: fiction that is well made, that says something true, and that deserves a good cover and a proper launch.

Our titles are published in paperback and as ebooks, and are available through Amazon worldwide. Our authors keep their copyright, and some of them, for professional or personal reasons, write under pen names. We take that seriously: interviews, press and correspondence are handled through the imprint so that an author’s privacy is never the price of being published.

The wren is one of Britain’s smallest birds and one of its loudest singers, which seemed about right for a press of our size.

We are not currently open to submissions.
